OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To overview the Ship Management Teams and all aspects of the management of the ships ensuring that the vessels are operated in accordance with Company policy,international standards and to the customers＇satisfaction. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Managing and planning the operation of the vessel（s）.Ensuring provision of adequate resources to effectively manage the vessels. 2.In all aspects of the vessel operations,ensuring that customer satisfaction is achieved. 3.Monitoring operating costs of vessel（s）and ensuring follow-up of cost control by the Ships Management Teams. 4.Monitoring of vessel visitations to ensure that vessels are inspected regularly.Ensuring that internal and external reports are completed within the agreed schedule. 5.Reporting of incidents and other items of concern to the Managing Director for his decision as to whether these can be considered a crisis and to assist as required.Ensuring that Owners are advised of incidents or other concerns which affect their ship. 6.Identifying the training needs of the Managers and Superintendents.Developing programmes for continuous improvement and to ensure that Technical staff are kept aware of new regulations and industry initiatives. 7.Assisting the Marketing Department in the preparation of new vessel budgets and management proposals. 8.Approve vessel operation budgets before submission to the managing director,shipping director and relevant personnels. 9.Preparing and co-ordination of drydocking of vessel as per maintenance planned program and budget. 10.To report Technical matters to the senior management level. 11.To check and maintain a high quality operation consistent with the international shipping standards. LIMITS OF AUTHORITY: Authority within the approved technical budget You must have: - Minimum of 2 years sailing experience as Chief Engineer with 2 years of experience as Superintendent or previous experience in a Senior Engineering position in the Marine Industry or - Post graduate Degree （MEng or MSc） or equivalent qualification in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline with 5 years of experience as Superintendent or previous experience in a Senior Engineering/Naval Architecture position in the Marine Industry - Excellent writing report in English Certificate request : ** Chief engineer |
