1.Job Title Junior Ship Superintendent 2. Institutional Aim General support to Fleet Maintenance Director 3. Main activities / responsibilities JUNIOR SUPERINTENDENT/TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO WORK UNDER THE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF THE FLEET MAINTANANCE DIRECTOR IN HIS/HER INSTITUTIONAL DUTIES, AND AS DELEGATED BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Guarantee the correct planning and eｘecution of the technical activities concerning the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of the Deck, Engine & Electrical departments for assigned fleet ships, in line with Company policies and strategies including those related to safety and environmental protection. In particular referring to: hull, superstructure, outer and inner deck, engine areas, propulsion and diesel generator engines, navigational equipment, GMDSS equipment, maneuvering equipment, workshops, gangways, PA systems, fire detection systems, fixed fire fighting systems, Life Boats, Davits （including life rafts） and relative winches. Manage the catering and laundry equipment maintenance. This activity must be coordinated according to the necessity and requirements of the relevant office including PHS department. Promote and guarantee, in collaboration with the Safety Superintendents and the ECP Superintendents, the eｘecution of the maintenance, improvements and technical modifications on safety and environmental equipment under his/her responsibility. Manage the budgets for ships under his/her responsibility, concerning both ordinary and extraordinary maintenance activities during the fiscal year. Approve the spare parts and consumable REQ for the budget of his/her competence （once the quote has been received by the purchasing agent）. Prepare a technical specification for the service activities in order to allow the Purchasing dept. to issue a proper tender. Collaborate with HR Deck & Engine Management on the evaluation of the shipboard personnel. Upgrade the ship equipment according to the SOLAS, MARPOL, Corporate Standard and international requirements （IMO）. Be the ashore contact person for the equipment under his/her competency during the PSC inspection, Flag Administration survey and any other visit carried out by third parties. Carry out technical inspections and visits to the ship in his/her competences as requested by internal and external procedure and managing the relevant follow-up. Provide the planning and preparation of the job list and the technical specification for maintenance, reparation and transformation activities during ship’s dry-doc Represent the Company during the ship’s dry-dock and coordinating all extraordinary maintenance activities. Be at any time fully compliant and aware of current Company Procedures. The ideal candidates are freshly graduated from Marine University, specialized in Engine, possibly （may not necessarily） with some sailing experience on merchant or passenger ships.
